Chennai Open final won by Marin Cilic

Marin Cilic of Crioata won the Chennai Open and in the same time his second ATP title. In the final he beat Somdev Dewarman from India, final score 6-4, 7-6 (3).

Dewarman, 202 ranked ATP, had some good chances to take control of the first set with serveral breaking chances, but Cilic saved them.

Roddick defeated by Murray in Qatar Open Final

Andy Murray defended his title at Qatar Open after he won the final against the american Andy Roddick, final score 6-4, 6-2.

The Scotsman confirms his good form after a great way in Qatar by defeating Roger Federer in the semifinals. Is the second time this year when Federer is defeated by Murray, after the game last week in an exhibition played in Abu Dhabi.

The fourth-ranked in ATP, Murray has now a clear way to a better play at the Australian Open, as he lost in the first round last year against the finalist Tsonga.

Tsonga wins Thailand Open

Jo wilfried Tsonga defeated Novak Djokovic, no. 3 ranked, 7:6(4), 6:4 and won the Thailand Open, his first career title.

Djokovic had 3 break points in the last game, but Tsonga saved them and won the game and the match.

China Open finals won by Roddick and Jankovic

Andy Roddick won the China Open final by defeating Dudi Sela in 3 sets, 6:4, 6:7(6), 6:3.

After winning the first set, he started well the second and won a break. But with some mistakes including a double fault, he let Sela to break back. Roddick was too nervous and the set were decided in tie break were Sela won it.

In the women\'s final, Jelena Jankovic defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova 6:3, 6:2. Jelena won his second tournament this year and the seventh of her career.

Argentina plays Spain in the Davis Cup Final

Juan Martin del Potro defeated Igor Andreev and sends Argentina in the Davis Cup final. The argentinian won 6:4, 6:2, 6:1 and made 3-2 the general score between Argentina and Russia. Earlier in the day, Nicolay Davydenko defeated David Nalbandian 3:6, 6:3, 7:6, 6:0.

Argentina qualified for the third time in the Davis Cup final and its first as host.

Spain won 4-1 against USA, winning all 4 singles games. For Nadal will be a great season if he will win Davis Cup after won French Open, Wimbledon and the Olympic gold medal.

Simon defeated Moya in BCR Open Final

Gilles Simon won the BCR Open Romania final and defended his title  by beating Carlos Moya 6-3, 6-4 in Sunday’s final.

The second-seeded Simon broke the Spaniard at 3-2 in the first set and saved all six break points he conceded in the match to secure his fifth career title.

Simon, who entered the week at No. 15, now rises to No. 12 in the ATP 2008 Race To Shanghai.

BCR Open Romania is providing some surprises

Some big names went out from BCR Open Romania after first 2 rounds played. Tuesday, in the second day of the tournament, Gulbis was deafeated by Gabashvili 6:2, 2:6, 6:4 and the local favourite, Victor Hanescu lost the game with Martin Vassallo-Arguello 4:6, 7:5, 6:4.

In the third day, some other big names left the tournament. Almagro lost in a 2 sets game with Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. Navarro made another surprise by winning against Paul-Henri Mathieu 6:4, 6:7, 6:3. Also, Potito Starace was one of the favourites, but he lost against frenchman Florent Serra 7:5, 0:6, 6:4.
